Washing Diamond

"If I, your Teacher, have washed your feet,

so you also ought to wash the feet of one another."

                                                    ~JESUS

 As I sense you, Christ,

diamond light,

manifest through this

my body,

I sense your waters

washing diamond.

Debris slips away

to only the diamond life

you are in me,

I am in you.

 

Diamond essence

both light and matter,

radiance and density

disperses fire:

perceptible love

that cuts, shapes

reflects faceted brilliance and

unveils the hidden face.

 

Be that love, then,

dispersing white light into spectral color,

flinting all inferior facets,

down to the fluorescent floor of radiant being.

Washing away all signs of me

until I am purely symbol of you.

 

Then, 

washing the feet of my beloved,

I wash diamond.
